Jeanne's "NO EGG" Nestling Recipe

20 GENERATIONS OF CANARIES RAISED WITHOUT EGG

This method of feeding is intended to be done in the morning allowing time for maintenance and care of your birds the rest of the day.  It is not necessary to replace the food until the following morning.

The night before (or if needed, 1hr. before feeding)

In a food processor, place 1-1/2 cups of frozen peas, 1/2 cup of frozen corn, 1 cup (loose) of fresh broccoli flowers and 1-1/2 Cups of

Roudybush Breeder* - Nibbles Size.  Let this mix sit in the processor until partially thawed, about 15 minutes.

Process the mixture until the vegetables are partially chopped up.

Refrigerate in closed container (I use Tupperware) overnight. (Mixture will form a crumbly cornbread like texture).

I serve approx. 1 heaping Tablespoon per baby.  I place the food in a shallow dish (I use a clean bird bath dish).

I give my birds fresh nestling food once every morning (same time each day).  This mixture should stay fresh in your refrigerator for approx. 3-4 days.

I continue to provide this food until the young birds are 6 weeks old and eating hard seed completely.

In addition to the above nestling food, I also provide daily a seed cup of:

1) Fresh seed mixture.

2) Roudybush™ Breeder Mini-Pellets in a dry powder form (use your blender).

* Do not use Roudybush™ Hi-Energy Breeder for this recipe.
